| I'm in New Zealand right now, spending time with lots of David's friends and family. Surprisingly, I did not get super homesick over Christmas. It did not seem like Christmas at all here, so I think that helped me not to miss it. It was just another ordinary day. The weather has been great here. Today is the first day it has rained. We've done a lot of relaxing and resting, but we've had a lot of fun too. On Christmas Eve, we took the jet ski out on the lake. I stayed on the beach and got devoured by sand flies (I have over 75 bites...not fun). We've also been fishing twice, once with family, once with friends. I finally caught a fish! 3 to be exact. They were small and had to be thrown back, but it was still exciting. Yesterday, David caught 6 fish, 3 of which were legal to keep. The food here has been great. I always remembered NZ food to be sort of bland, but it has been quite tasty this time around. I'm really enjoying all the stuff that I miss about NZ: Sparkling Duet, pineapple lumps, meat pies. The States should get all those things because they are awesome. I like it here and we're already planning our trip back. This is really a random post, but I thought I should at least write something about my trip. :) See you soon, US of A.

| A lot has been going on lately. First of all, we are all settled into our new house. I absolutely love it! We have a stray cat that keeps visiting us every day though. I wish it would leave. Maybe it will stop coming over once I put a brick by the hole in the fence. I will post pictures on Facebook of the new (painted) house soon.
I had a great Thanksgiving. I truly have so much to be thankful for. God has flooded me with blessings this year. We went over to my aunt's and had some great food. Black Friday was a blast, too. David and I left the house at 2:15 and was in line for Old Navy at 2:30. Luckily, we got in and out pretty quickly before the checkout line got too insane. Then, we went to JcPenney and Sears and Wal-Mart. We didn't stay at Sears and Wal-Mart. It was a little too crazy there and we didn't have a specific thing we wanted there. Black Friday is not the day to browse! We grabbed some breakfast at IHOP at about 6 and then finished round 1 at Lowes, Family Christian Stores, and PetSmart (We got tons of stuff for the new puppy!) That concludes round 1. We took a 3 hour nap, ate some lunch, and headed back out. JcPenney again, Sears again, Big Lots (twice), Dollar Tree, Walgreens, and Target. The day was a success. We got almost all of our shopping done. There are still a few things we need to buy online, but other than that, we're golden.
Yesterday was spent cleaning the house, doing laundry, wrapping presents, and putting up the Christmas tree. The Christmas stuff looks great in our new home and we actually have a fireplace to hang our stockings! Woo!
Today we will probably try to get the master bathroom painted. Then all that will be left is the guest bathroom, which can wait a while.
Lots of things are coming up: I only have 3 weeks left of school before Christmas break. We leave for New Zealand on December 19 and return January 4. Hopefully, we go get the puppy that weekend, and start obedience training the following Friday. Lots of exciting stuff! Can't wait!
If I don't update before then, have a great Christmas! Remember the real reason for the season. :)

| I was hoping I would get to write a really happy post about getting our new house. Afraid not. David and I have been house hunting for a couple weeks and we found the most perfect house. It was perfect in so many ways. Yesterday we made an offer. They quickly counter offered but did not budge from the asking price. Apparently, they don't want to negotiate. So as hard as it was, we walked away. It is so disappointing. I broke down like 4 times before school started, so I quickly went to the secretary and whispered, "I need a half day sub!" They were really understanding and sweet. I made it to noon and then came home, ate, and slept for two hours. I'm glad I came home so I could rest and recuperate from my disappointment and whatever bug I may have. I'm a little scared to see the note I might have waiting for me on my desk when I go back, but for once, I needed to take care of me instead of worrying about everyone else.
I know God is good and that He has a plan. It's just hard sometimes when your plan isn't His plan. But alas, I know His truth and I will continue just to trust Him.
